Since its first tinplate production in 1959, DongYang Tinplate has become the largest and finest tinplate manufacturer in Korea. DongYang's Tinplate pioneering spirit has become the leader of the vast growing Korean tinplate industry.
Its large R&D investment and development of Tin Free Steel has replaced conventional tinplating. As a result, DongYang's innovation has reduced overall costs to related industries. Another example of DongYang's R&D team success was the development of Copper-Lite, in 1986, as the first one in Korea.
DongYang Tinplate stands head above shoulders in this era of global competition with its advanced technology and inhouse know how of 43 years. DongYang Tinplate has set up a joint venture company, Ohio Coatings Company in Ohio with Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corporation which has an annual capacity of 250,000 tons. In addition, we have set up a joint venture company called Hainnan Haiwoo Tinplate in China with an annual production of 100,000 metric tons. These two joint ventures supply tinplates to their domestic market as well as to the foreign countries. DongYang Tinplate exports not only its products but also plant facilities to more than 30 countries.
